I’m delighted and honoured to have been asked to write this testimonial for Cookie. I have known him for 4 years, as my fielding coach at Derbyshire and my mentor on my ECB Level 4 coaching course.

Cookie reignited my love for fielding, through engaging discussions, challenging training sessions as well as honest and accurate analysis of my match performance. I thoroughly enjoyed his use of innovative drills to challenge and improve my skills across the board.

Cookie built up a great rapport with the players at Derbyshire CCC and this combined with his technical and tactical knowledge was a catalyst to our performance improving. His energy and enthusiasm rubbed off on the players and he took us from an average fielding side to an efficient fielding unit that made an impact on winning games. Cookie’s ball-by-ball fielding score analysis, gave our players a focus which individuals could use to analyse their performance and it certainly added a great competitive edge to our fielding.

More than anything, what stands out for me is Cookie’s passion and professionalism for coaching and developing people. He is a diligent, tireless worker who cares about his players, their experiences and how they are achieving, both on and off the field.
